Medical restraints come in many forms. My favorite is from a company called Segufix. These restraints are cotton and use magnetic locks instead of padlocks. They are generally used for bed restraint and are very effective. The simplicity of the restraints is part of what makes them so interesting. Most have hook and loop portions and attach to an anchor point with a simple loop. The lock itself is just attached to a post which can be removed quite easily when not locked. The locks are magnetic and use a simple “key” to remove. That is where things get interesting. Those posts can be used for other things too, like belts and other restraints not made by Segufix. As long as the post goes through, you could even lock a pair of jeans onto a sub.
I enjoy using our Segufix setup as it allows me to full control and easy access to the sub at all times. It can be used with a wide range of gear for all sorts of interesting scenes. Escape is not possible once strapped in regardless of what gear they’re wearing. We’re still experimenting with the restraints all the time. They are very versatile and even can be used as a standalone restraint. The ankle and wrist restraints, for example, are separate from the straps that hold them to the bondage table. They can be used for a simple hogtie or in the cage to hold arms and legs apart.
As with any restraint, you should always consider safe use. These can get tight same as any other, so make sure you adjust things properly. Sometimes putting your finger under the restraint while tightening helps. Keep these away from chemicals and other things that may stain the gear if you want that nice “medical” aesthetic. The locks can also get stuck if you’re overzealous with stacking belts. Make sure there is enough wiggle room for the lock so that you can unlock it when the time comes. They need to be pressed down a little to unlock, so keep that in mind. These types of restraints also need a firm anchor point that is a sufficient distance from the restraint. Too close or too far and it will not work the way you want.
